Calling all amateur boaters, boat makers, designers and people seeking fun. The Freedom Old Home Week Committee is formulating plans for a “Cardboard” boat race on Saturday, July 31st, following the annual OHW parade. FOHW invites any and all to participate in designing and building a boat made entirely out of cardboard and racing it on a defined course on Loon Lake. Registration forms will be available in the near future on this website.

Participants can build single, double or multiple person craft and are encouraged to decorate their boats. Trophy categories are: One/Two Person Boat or Team Boat in both Adult (17+) and Youth (10-16) age groups. Award categories are: “Pride of the Fleet Award”, “Team Spirit Award”, and “Titanic Award”. We are encouraging participants from all lake organizations, camps, citizens and summer residents in Freedom to make an entry in what we expect to be an exciting and fun-filled event.
